My mom has ALWAYS been independent. Since my dad passed away in 2011, my mom has always taken care of herself. For the past 9 months she has fallen multiple times. We were recommended to reach out to this facility for 24 /7 care. We are so grateful and the staff have been outstanding! We never wanted our mom to be in a Nursing Home, St James Manor has wonderful! Every question and concern have been answered in a caring matter. My mom has improved SO MUCH since she has been placed. We are extremely thankful. She always tells me how she is pleased on how she is taken care of. They truly go above and beyond for what they do. I can list names, but for now Craig, Katie (CNA), Tameka, Dee, Shanna, Natalie, Cindy...the list can go on and on. Youve played a huge part in our moms health to get her back to where she is. Yes, its an older building and is outdated and some floors are dark., I realize cosmetic renovation is costly. Like for instance, the appartments could be retrofitted with showers and walk-tubs, instead of great big hu ge bathtubs. The hallways smell old, smokey, and musty. Care has been given on all 16 floors to make sure there are comfortable chairs by the elevators. So residents can sit while while waiting for one of two elevators, which some times does take a while to get to your floor. But is a quick trip going down.. On each waiting area by the elevators sits 1 or 2 comfortable chairs., wall hangings and decorations keep each floor from being to generic... and has a home like feel. I have been impressed and I have to give credit to the staff! They do really care about the residents... and the care given to residents at this location is 1st class! The common areas are neat and clean. The outside sitting areas are very nice and pleasant. Im very happy my mom is a resident at the UAW facility. more ... hide ...

Management is horrible. All bc he had a personal issue with me , he said hes going to evict me. I have 3 kids. He told me he doesnt care about how I feel and I also have a racist neighbor downstairs who made rude comment s toward my child and called her fat. Ground floor apartments flood. Ground floor hallways flood. No hot water 3-5 times a week. Toilet backs up every week. Roto Rooter at complex 3-5 times a week.
