Horrible management (Dana). My 2 children and I lived on their sister property, Lafayette Gardens, for 3 years. I had issues from day one. The key the office provided did not fit the lock, I had to wait on a Saturday for 2 hours to be brought the right key so movers could get in. The carpets were not cleaned before move in as stated in the lease. I dealt with a constant roach infestation and a heater that never worked properly. The office NEVER answered the phone or returned calls and there was no on-site manager. Grass during summer months was overgrown. We never once swam in the pool because it was out of order. The dumpster was always overflowing with trash. I could go on.My second year there, I had an incident with a neighbor who accused me of damaging her car bumper (a tiny scratch). She harassed me every day demanding money to replace her entire front bumper and threatening to report me to management. I ended up paying her deductible and we signed an agreement. She never fixed the car but she stopped harassing me. Flash forward a year 1/2 later, I went in to renew my lease for year #4 and was told it would not be renewed. I asked why and Dana called me into her office, first stating she knew I had a man living with me (not true), and then that I vandalized a neighbors car and wrote Die Bitch on her front steps (completely untrue!). I was shocked this was even coming up so long after the fact especially considering we settled the dispute. I tried defending myself but Dana said she had photo evidence of me looking at the car as well as a police report (Complete lies - I checked with Scott PD and there was no report). I asked to see this supposed evidence and was told no, and that legally she didnt need a reason to get rid of me since my lease term was ending. I have no idea why Dana had it out for me, I paid my rent on time every month and had pleasant exchanges with her up until this point. I asked her how she could put out a single mom with 2 kids for no good reason and her words to me were, Dont play the single mom card with me, Boo. I left the office in tears and the next day there was a 30 days to vacate notice on my door. more ...
