Our family has been involved with Augustana family since the 1970s. It all began when my dads mother Gunhild moved to the Augustana community. Later my mothers mother Hattie moved to Augustana. During the man y years that followed my mother would visit both grandmothers 6 days a week and serve coffee and fresh baked cookies. Both grandmothers thoroughly enjoyed their time at Augustana until their passing. Some years later mothers aunt Anita and cousin Mary Joy, joined the Augustana family. A few years ago, mothers nephew Darrell joined the Augustana family. Two years ago, my mother made the decision to move to the Augustana Villa. Given her many years of experience with Augustana, this was a very easy decision for her to make. In fact, for the several years preceding the move, mother would always tell me that when the time came, she wanted to live at Augustana.I have personally spent a lot of time at the Augustana Villa as well as the Augustana Health Care and Rehabilitation. I have to say that it is the staff that makes this such a wonderful place to live.Mother enjoys her independent living at the Villa. She makes her own breakfast (eggs every day) and then takes advantage of the evening meal served by the Villa staff. She often tells me that she has never had a meal that she didnt like. Mother uses the housekeeping services as needed.During this Covid epidemic the Villa staff provided many services to make life easier for their residents. They include hallway entertainment, snack cart deliveries, video conference with family, just to name a few. The Villa made sure that every resident and employee had the opportunity to be vaccinated. Mother would tell me every day how well the Villa was protecting her and others through the pandemic. As mothers needs may increase, Augustana is ready, willing and able to see that those needs are met.It is without question that I highly recommend Augustana. more ... hide ...

If you put in a maintenance request you dont hear back for several hours and they dont even fully fix the problem. Weve had a broken window since spring and all theyve done to fix it is put tape on it that says \"dont op en\" and its now almost August again with no word on when theyre fixing it. Every floor has at least one broken washer and dryer consistantly (and when property manager was informed he told me to call maintenance myself about all six broken units despite maintenance being with him when I spoke with him) and the elevator shakes and groans. The different residents have taken to leaving notes warning other residents about which washer and dryers are broken so that we all stop losing money (which they dont refund even with a formal complaint). They also recently decided to wash the windows so they entered the apartments and took out all the screens and then left the screens in the middle of the apartments for almost three weeks at this point even though windows have all been washed with no word on when they are replacing the screens. The mailboxes are crusted and hard to open due to a leak from the ceiling they never fully cleaned. Have spent the entire year without a call box number despite going down and requesting having one made several times. more ... hide ...

This place has gone downhill over the last 5 years. I have been in the elevator with an obvious odor of urine that has lasted for weeks and not been cleaned up. Management has also severely reduced services for elderly r esidents which used to be performed by their maintenance staff. Biggest perk is that they provide a way to get Russian language television! more ... hide ...
