This apartment complex is horrible and the management isnt is better my grandmother passed away on January 25, 2018 I went in and told the management company and all I was told was you have two weeks to remove your grand mothers stuff on the same day she passed away I was asked to clean the apartment to make it rentable witch I did they told me they would issue her apartment deposit back to me with they did after they charged me a weeks worth of rent and I did receive the remaining amount but they made the check out to a dececed person that person being my grandmother so of course the check is useless I was told by buckeye cable to leave her cable box in her apartment witch I did and it was a mistake on cables part it was supposed to be returned to them so I went to the apartment manager and asked her if it would be ok if I could get it she proceeded to tell me no it wasnt there so I called buckeye cable to report there equipment stole to be able to avoid having to pay the bill for it but buckeye cable said they would call the apartment manager for me and strangley after the called them buckeye cables equipment popped up so they arranged to pick it up on Tuesday...so if youre able to find your loved one a better place to live Id highly recommend it hopefully you dont have to go through what I did......at least they got a clean apartment out of it...they need to find this place better employees at least people that care.... more ... hide ...

I just moved in, and I am so disappointed. The apartment is \"cute\", and I can live with the inside. I had a handicap ramp, (in disrepair) when I left for my doctors appointment and discussed this with my doctor. I took pictures with my cell phone so the dr. could see what I was talking about. They provided me with a letter asking to replace or repair the ramp. When I returned home, the maintenance guy was tearing it down and I was told it would take 6 months or longer to get a new one. I dont have 6 months to risk having to use narrow steps attached to a slab that is not level. They left a mud pit where standing water just sits and I slipped in the mud, twisting and distorting my body! Its very dangerous, a magnet for flies and for mosquitoes. I can not walk without use of my 4 wheeled walker and trying to get up these steps at either entrance is a very difficult, scary experience for me. The detailed letter from my dr. is not good enough for them! The paperwork for \"reasonable modifications\" has to be submitted, then approved by someone, then contractors contacted then bids submitted, and hope they get approved - then wait for the installation. This place advertises its handicap accessible and friendly. They said I knew the ramp was being torn down - but they (office ppl) also knew I NEEDED a ramp. I had a very difficult time getting in and out of the office to sign the lease, but they did not have any problem taking my money. There are other things that should have been done. The old ramp they tore down could have been REPAIRED. Because it was wood, TR is trying to replace them with metal, but at whose expenses? Im having surgery in a few weeks and I have to have a ramp when I come home. I can only pray that God sees the genuine need and works some kind of miracle. The other thing that should have been considered was a different apartment (and they have plenty) that has a functional ramp.... I am waiting for a return call from the lawyer with \"Disability Rights of Ohio\" (DRO) to see what options I may have. I should not have to worry about something like this. I specifically told them on my application and over the telephone that I need a ramp. The office mngr met with me twice and could SEE that I have a difficult time walking. Yes, it is also on my application! They sure didnt hesitate to take my money.I also have a \"Ride Along\" which allows me to move more freely around but absolutely can not use it here. Both entrances have very narrow steps and the top slab to the entrance I was told to use is lopsided. When I asked for some kind of railing, I was told that because it is only 2 steps up, its not required by HUD!What about requirement for safety reasons.Another thing: the toilet has backed-up and overflowed twice within 2 weeks of living here. The second time they run a 6ft snake down it, I was told that if that didnt fix it, they would have to order a new toilet! It seems to me that if the blockage is beyond the 6ft, you get a longer snake not a new toilet. I dont flush toilet paper anymore. Fingers crossed it keeps working..... more ... hide ...

This is generally a calm, family friendly, place. I like my neighbors and my little community. We look out for each other. Management does their best to make sure you are being listened to. They are open and accommodatin g to all. They are very inclusive and non-discriminatory.I may simply have been looking for an apartment when I came to High Meadows Apartments, but I found so much more. I found a home. more ... hide ...
