The only times I have seen African-American women advancing and actually succeeding in this program is when they consent to be a "poster child" (sharing their story to them and their benefactors so the program can keep on getting financing by being a statistic). They tend to focus more on making connections with the other women than on being supportive, mentors, etc. There are too many regulations with not enough aid, you are left to do everything on your own. They only provide economical rent while you still need to apply for childcare assistance, EBT, and public housing from the government. Jeremiah does not cover any costs for you or your child. You go to college, accumulate a lot of debt, then you are back in the real world with actual bills, rent, childcare costs, a great deal of debt to pay back, and where is Jeremiah during that period of transition? (This program can make someone sluggish, and solely reliant on student loans and college). Individually, I didn't like that I decided early, participated in all my empowerment classes, and the life coach Kelsey was disorganized, always needing to reschedule or not accessible.
