This senior complex located just off of Route 9 in Halfmoon is just mediocre when compared to other places for seniors. There are no dishwashers in any of the apartments, which is not ideal for aging adults who don't want to do dishes. There are no dishwashers in any of the apartments, which is not ideal for aging adults who don't want to do dishes. Furthermore, the complex has no central air conditioning, only regular room air conditioners in the wall of each unit. Most of these air conditioners are very old, and when they break, the responsibility to replace them lies with the tenant. Unfortunately, many seniors who live here are only able to pay rent with Social Security, and cannot afford to replace the air conditioner. Not only must they buy a new one, but they have to hire a contractor to take out the old one and put the new one in the wall. There is a community room located on the first floor with a kitchenette, but the complex does not organize any social events such as Bingo, pizza parties, or movie night. My year spent here was an absolute NIGHTMARE. In July, when we arrived, the AC wasn't working. The rent is based on income. Inside the complex is a gorgeous community room with a kitchenette, but no activities are organized for the seniors.
