Its very difficult to decide it is time to move to an assisted living facility and give up more of ones independence. This was most definitely the \"right\" decision for myself and my health. The staff and other residents have been wonderful so far, and I researched it for about 4yrs B4 I even applied for the unit. Maybelle Center for Community, open to the residents of old town, who become members and is part of the property and our membership and services continue. There is a large (Good part) of being a \"family member\" with the staff and residents. Again, Im VERY happy, thankful, and fortunate to finally be here. Even my MDS are thrilled!more ...hide ...

I am giving one star beacuse the experience after moving out. I applied for rent assiatnce before I move out. the management office got that payment and kept it for themselves plus dedcuting money from my deposit. so now there is a credit in my account. plus they made me giving them a money order that was never added to my account!! the money order just disspaear!!! I have a picture when I gave them the money order. I moved 11 months ago and everytime I asked about my money they say we are processing your payment and will contact you back or send me my money. and ofcourse nobody calls me back. very unproffessional!!! I will update my review if anyone from the office reach out to me.more ...hide ...

This provides often-forgotten elders, adults of all abilities, and people living in poverty with the chance to be meaningful, contributing members of the community. I have been a member for the past 8 to 10 years. When I needed more help than home care offered, I applied and was accepted into a Medicaid/Medicare-funded assisted living center (Macdonald Residence) about five years ago. Although independent living is ideal, if a person needs more help, this is the best option. For many of us, it is like having a family. Through the Maybelle Macdonald Center for Community, I have also met people living independently at Macwest. I am truly grateful to the founders of the center, the Maybelle Macdonald Foundation, the members and residents of Marys Woods and Father Berg, and all the generous donors, volunteers, and staff who have greatly enhanced my life and given me a purpose. Thank you all!more ...hide ...
