Susan was accommodating and very understanding of our situation. They actually have a lot of small programs that benefit the senior citizens there which I thought was a nice touch. We did have the room just above the front entrance and, during winter times when it was really cold, the pipes to our bathtub would freeze and wouldnt drain properly. Though it was a slight inconvenience, it really doesnt define my stay there. I would definitely recommend any seniors and/or students to live there. Love that it was only a 10min walking distance to UW.more ...hide ...

However, I only stayed there for two weeks due to the landlord making me feel uncomfortable. I had recently graduated from UWP and was thrilled to move into my first apartment, yet living at Ruxton made me feel like I was still in the dorms. I felt as if I was constantly being monitored. The landlord would reprimand me if I had too many visitors or if I let other people into the building. Although this place is perfect for families, it is not suitable for those in their twenties wishing to live a social lifestyle. Even though these apartments are Section 42, they are still very pricey. Five months have gone by, yet I am still forking out $726 for rent for a home I am not living in as they are having trouble finding someone else to qualify for Unit 112. It was not at all what I expected it to be. I believe the landlord should have been more candid about the Section 42 housing agreement rules as they were not clarified to me. I was so unhappy that I was willing to terminate my lease and give up a beautiful corner apartment just to leave.more ...hide ...

The interior of the townhouse I inspected was aged but generally tidy. Nevertheless, the process of renting it became unnecessarily complex. As I'd begun my application processes months before, I'd submitted all the necessary paperwork in an orderly manner. However, manager Sara made it difficult for me at every stage. She even accused me of having someone else fill out the forms for me, without any proof. She also asked me to get a fax form from every job I'd worked in over the past decade to prove I didn't work there. After she gave me the assurance I'd get the apartment she gave it to someone else. I'd read reviews about the place before applying, but decided to proceed anyhow. But the reviews were accurate and I should have paid more attention to them. Sara is quite aloof and can be very impolite. I strongly advise against applying here. Just because it's HUD housing doesn't mean you should be treated any less than you should be.more ...hide ...
