Stayed here 1 year during 2017. Overall a decent and quiet place to live. Within a 6 block walking distance of a library, grocery store that makes its own brats, brewery, restaurants, live theater and a McDonalds.Likes:* Working cold AC* Maintained grounds and common areas* Helpful staff - caretaker helped look for my lost phone* Generally a quiet place to live* Age of building and historical significant to the neighborhood, caretaker actually mentioned experiencing ghosts once..* Cost compared to newer apartment buildings* Security cameras, security cameras, security cameras... if you look at Minneapolis crime maps there arent too many that occur here.Dislikes:* No underground parking - outdoor garages that youre put on a waiting list for* Minimal \"gym\" that has a few useful pieces of equipment jammed in with a bunch of other equipment* Occasional clouds of pot smoke in the hallways and stairwell.Thats my experience in 12 months, I know others might find it different. more ... hide ...

(1) COMMUNICATION. Trellis management knows how to acquire buildings for low income housing and in that regard is providing a needed service. However, Trellis still doesnt know that it MUST communicate respectfully wit h the residents and provide a means for residents and activities director to communicate. Trellis FAILS this. We dont need a useless TV in the exercise room. That TV should be in the lobby, above the fireplace, where Trellis/Trinity and the activities director can post notices and updates and calendars for the residents.(2) SECURITY. Trellis should have built security into Trinity Apartments when it was rehabed instead two years after the fact. That shows poor planning, foresight, insight into peoples behavior, understanding of this neighborhood, and caring for this vulnerable community. You shouldve secured the kitchen separately so residents could use the community room.(3) PATIO. Overheated in the summer because it lacks shade. You need to put something in the rafters above the gas grills to provide shade in that area. The umbrellas are useless because it takes two (2) people to open them. Also they dont tilt so when the afternoon sun hits they dont provide shade at the tables. And they lift out of the tables in heavy winds. Same for the back tables. And no one uses the expensive gas grills. All-in-all poor planning.(4) VISION/SUMMARY. I think Trellis lacks overall vision. Apparently Trellis believes all it has to do is provide little boxes for the low income to live in \"independently\" and prefers that the low income residents be invisible. If Trellis was a for-proit corporation I think it would be in trouble. more ... hide ...
