I went thru a lenghy admition and I started having issues and the landlords both on site and in Portland office said that we try to help our tenants when they have issues so one or two came up and zero support the neighb ors mostly are two faced and in the only four months I was there they made it unbearable for me to live there from eviction to jail me saying I had enough so I agreed to leave more ... hide ...

I spent just over 3 years in one of their 3 apartments on the same block. The Complexes are getting a facelift and it is looking good. The Current Manager is a good guy, three years ago he helped me with my application pr ocess. For a place that has \"low-income\" housing it wasnt a slum-lord situation. The Appliances in my unit werent fancy or modern, but they were functional. It may have been my water heater, but i would recommend a filter in the shower because the normal water left me feeling gross. The bathroom ventilation is automatic based upon humidity and movement, so both good and bad. The interior door frame are no good for pull ups... broke my frame and fell down on the second pull up. The only complaint I have and I might have done it to myself. When I left a portion of my items had a slight smell and some had a yellow hue on them. algae, mold, forgot to flush a few times? Im not so sure. The lock-down situation made things challenging but their changes were sensible. This is a Great area for running. paths, parks, ponds, power lines.. hah got another P word. There is a Local gym only a few blocks away next to the shopping area, but the cost is anything but free. The Complex does have a small gym room, but it needs an update of the variety kind.Coming back around to the staff. 95% of my staff interactions have been decent, plus I am a decently memorable person in those parts. The last thing and it being quite minor is the parking. We could use more parking there and for the guests as well. In addition to that, I dont like not being able to back into my parking spot because I drive a full size truck, parking nose-in makes things challenging and slower to finally park.Overall, I would consider going back. The Area, close to highway 26, the parks, the stores, a short drive for more shopping or movie theaters. Good place, good people. more ... hide ...

The current management - Tammy and Melina - makes living here such a pleasant experience! They are not just professional and knowledgeable, but they are also kind, compassionate, helpful and warm. They go above and beyon d for the people who live here on a regular basis, and any paperwork needing done (re-certifications, for example), goes super smoothly, because they do whatever they can to make it easy and uncomplicated. There is no question in my mind that I am welcome here, and that I matter. The only complaint I have is about the bathtubs. Theyre set kind of high, so getting out is a bit precarious. It would have been nice if the builders would have thought about that, or installed bars to make exiting the tub a little safer. And speaking of safety, since this is a secure building, it is so nice to feel safe here! Its not the best neighborhood, and I dont feel safe outside late at night, but I always feel safe within the building. The icing on the cake: Tammy and Melina are both also dog lovers, which my dog finds irresistible! I cant say enough about these good, kind women. Im blessed to live here. more ... hide ...

Have a friend that lives there. Ive seen bigger motel rooms than the studio apartment she lives in. But if your on a fixed income like SSI and tired of living on the streets its an ok place.

I lived here in the early 2000s. I was forced to move because of \"visitors\" refusing to leave AFTER I asked them to. I had even informed them they could only stay for 2 weeks. In order to stop the eviction I turned in my move out notice.I find it hard to believe that these apartments went from one of the best places to live to one of the worst. When I lived there, it was well cared for. My apartment was 5th floor in the building closest to the Broadway Bridge. My balcony faced the key card operated gate. There was no washer/dryer in the unit. There was a dishwasher. There was a laundry room in the building. You couldnt leave your laundry or someone would steal your clothes.GSL still managed the Yards when I lived there. The staff were borderline rude. I was accused of not paying my rent one month. Thank God I had TWO receipts to prove that I did. It turned out to be an error on the accountants part. I wouldve stayed there because I really did like living there. But I think the management handled my situation in a very poor manner. They shouldve worked with me instead of against me.Thats why I only gave two stars. I ended up homeless for 2 years because of it.FYI: The Yards at Union Station runs from the Broadway Bridge to the Naito Pkwy railroad crossing. Its all one complex. I lived there long enough to know this as they were just starting to break ground for building the newest addition. The leasing office for the whole thing is at 941 N. W. Naito Pkwy. more ... hide ...
