I let it slide. Afterwards, the air conditioning unit broke down, leaving me in the Houston heat for an entire week. Mold proliferated all over the apartment, roaches were on the walls which had evidently been painted over, and the tub needed resurfacing. There was also a roach infestation due to the neighbors moving out. I was seven weeks pregnant and deathly allergic to mold, so I had to go to the emergency room multiple times as a result of their negligence. I informed management but they did nothing until I chose to break the lease due to the unsanitary conditions and my medical issues. Subsequently, they sued me for rent; I paid the balance, though I was unable to contest it in court because of my pregnancy. However, they have not held up their end of the bargain by releasing me from the judgement like they'd signed. I contacted the office and Ana Jimenez about getting this release, but have received no response. I have proof of the payments and signed confirmation from Ana Jimenez, but they've been ignoring me for weeks and now say they never received the payments. Because of their carelessness, I'm unable to move. Be warned: this is an organization driven by profits and that does not care about its tenants. more ... hide ...
