Ms. Heaven, however, was the first to show interest in wanting to help, even if we did not have rental history. She said that our application may still be considered. She gave us hope. We applied for a two bedroom because she said that there were no 3 bedrooms available, which was what we needed, but we were just appreciative of the chance to have a home. Trying to find a place to live with the rising costs of things is so difficult. We did not quite qualify anywhere. Ms. Heaven was very empathetic and I would highly recommend anyone to go to her for anything. I hope we get approved, but even if we do not, we are extremely grateful for her outstanding customer service. It is people like her that keep decency alive during the strenuous process of finding a place to live, no matter where it is. Some people assume that because we are of low income and have to apply for income restricted apartments, we must not have any education and treat us badly from the start. Nonetheless, many of us are college educated and have simply been unlucky in finding work in our major, or have been compelled to leave our country to search for a better quality of life. My spouse and I moved into this complex in 2015 and were the first inhabitants. We moved out in September of 2019 due to uncorrected maintenance issues. Mold was present in our residence due to various water leaks that weren't managed properly; it was never dried and only temporarily patched. The AC unit was also kept being temporarily fixed. We followed the three required written notices of our maintenance requests, but they weren't recognized and some were even erased. Managers changed during this entire chaos, so there wasn't any communication between the office and us. A new manager arrived and we explained we had already submitted our last warning; she understood and took extra pictures to make sure we wouldn't be held responsible for the lease termination or damage. TODAY, I got a notification that $998 was sent to a debt collection agency. I have no idea why. After we moved out, there was no communication with us for two whole years. We gave contact information and change of address as asked. We're currently attempting to purchase a house, but now that has been placed on hold until we figure out a way to remove this.
