I was hoping to find something before my lease expires but I was not aware of how this rental proces has changed in 13 years. I was scammed out of $400 and the house was just a myth which set me back and then it happened again by a scammer with the voice of an angle. Another set back. I'm on a fixed income and was not prepared for this relocation process. I was fine here in my home. I don't have funds to be placing application after application in a home that has a waiting list. I need to know.how many people are ahead of me that way I move in to the next home and not throw away my money to some greedy landlord or scammers that won't be truthful from the get go. We need Landlords Will to rent to section 8. They need to be informed about getting an insurance policy for the home they rent to applicants. This is their business and they should be treating it as just that and not to take it personally. We are not applying for a room at the homes they live in with their families. We are applying for a home that pays for the family home. Open your eyes and your minds and stop this behavior of stereotyping us as bad tenants. You are given incentives to work with us and those incentives should cover the cost of painting over a wall that an innocent child colored his mother's picture on or an excited child just learning how to write his/her name. They are harmless accidents that occur when a mother feels safe enough and secure in her families home that she is able to close her tired eyes and not worry. All because of the safety and security your home has given them. Don't pull your hand back when someone need it. And if we all (USA) expect for America to ever be great again we need to nourish our children's mind and allow them a chance at a good education don't put them in projects that only teaches only violence and that fighting is the only way to make it to another day. We need to work together landlords and tenants the people living in these unsafe dwellings (yes we are also people) need to be spread through the city not just keep compacting them on top of each other like sardines. That's how violence started and projects became a danger.
