My original move-in date was scheduled for December 8, but that didn't occur. In short, the tenant in the unit I was supposed to move in to had renewed their lease, which was unforeseen, and my name and rental information had been overlooked. I had already paid more than $400 (overcharged, so the property manager owes me a credit of approximately $115) for administration/application fees. I was apologized to for the miscommunication and reassured that another unit would be accessible on January 12. Well, they failed me again; I was emailed on the 4th to inform me the unit wouldn't be ready and that I would only receive a refund. It turns out they were deceiving me and gave the apartment unit, that I had a signed and dated lease agreement for, to another individual. Attempts to contact the on-site property manager to resolve this issue were unproductive. I talked to the regional manager on January 11, who was astonished by my story. I haven't heard back from anyone in two weeks. Small claims court appears to be a plan.more ...hide ...
