I had an apartment here for a year and had issues with maintenance and the office throughout my time there. When I moved in the hot water was not heating up, I made three maintenance calls for it to be examined when on t he third attempt a worker visited when I was home and understood the problem. During the process a piece in my shower broke and they had to make a service call for a welder to come out and fix it. They had turned off my water during the service and could not turn it back on because it would leak into the apartment below me so I went a week without running water in my entire apartment. They gave me keys to go to another building just so I could shower and use the bathroom. I did not receive a discount or any reimbursement for the inconvenience. When the welding company came to resolve the issue they cut a hole through my closet, I had to submit a maintenance request to have someone come out and patch it, there was no follow-up.That was just one of the problems I experience. At one point the heating coil for my oven caught fire and I had to pull it forward to stop the fire. The next day when I went into the office to report the issue the woman barely cared about how dangerous the issue was. The light in my closet was out until the month I moved out because they needed to order a part to fit it.I genuinely thought the maintenance workers were polite and friendly. They always made small talk when they visited and always knocked before entering. Things were just constantly breaking. more ... hide ...

I have been a resident of City View in the Square for two years. There are many things to do at City View. We are within walking distance of the Farmers Market where you can get fresh produce.On Fridays we have a Walma rt Shuttle bus which is complimentary so we can do some shopping. The city bus stops right in front of our door on regular basis every day of the week. City View also owns a van which will take us to other stores and sometimes restaurants throughout each month. We have on-site service coordinators who help us with paperwork, and facilitate other types of assistance.There are important safety features at City View. One is that all apartments have fire sprinklers. Sprinklers are prevalent around the building and well maintained. Another safety feature is secured entry to the building. You must have a key fob, as a member, or be admitted by a member in order to enter the building.We have many activities at City View. We are a co-operative which means there are opportunities for volunteers to help with tasks in the building. We also have dinners, cook outs, bingo on friday nights and birthday celebrations .I live on the 14th floor and have a great view of the west side of Kalamazoo. It is especially beautiful in the Fall when the leaves change colors and at night when the lights are blinking. This is a wonderful place to live and to call home. more ... hide ...

Beginning in May of this year the following has happened:1) my potted flowers were thrown against my front door and destroyed2) my outdoor chair and table were stolen3) a ceramic bowl left for water for cats was smashed on my sidewalk4) my apartment broken into and my TV and loose change stolen5) Package delivered to wrong address was not delivered to me (they kept it)Stay away. You cant have any quality of life here. Only stay in your aparrnent and dont talk to anyone. They know when you go to work and look for opportunities to take advantage. more ... hide ...
