I absolutely loved renting my apartment from Union Towers. I am not a senior citizen and did not live in the tower, but rather a house they own across the street. The office staff was always so friendly and the rent was more than reasonable for a spot that close to the city. I moved away about 2 years ago and regret it. I would have no hesitation renting a property from them again. more ... hide ...

I am a Ph.D. Psychologist who was recently helping my own mother consider a move to the Arbors Assisted Living Residence in Chicopee, MA. My mother had a stroke more than six months ago and we have insured that she has had the highest quality of care from both medical and mental health professionals. While she did have some initial confusion about where home was and how she would live moving forward like many elderly individuals who suffer a stroke, she has done incredibly well and all of her caregivers have given her the green light to move from a higher level of care to assisted living. All good. Not quite. After having met my mother, had their nurse evaluate her, and having received the documentation they requested, they asked for a deposit, gave her a contract, and a move in date. When we brought her for lunch to help her assimilate before the move they actually suggested she begin her stay that night instead of waiting the week for the move-in. She met several residents just like herself while she waited for a small bag with her personal items to arrive. She was overjoyed until her bag arrived an hour later and the staff suddenly decided that after having just reviewed her case, she was ...no longer welcome. They hadnt at any previous point in our interactions with them noticed that as a stroke patient she had had some confusion in the early aftermath of her stroke and didnt think they wanted the \"liability\" that she might be for them. What was astonishingly unprofessional was that they hadnt done their homework in advance, hadnt let either my mother or her family know that they had any concerns in advance, and after the fact, didnt want to take into consideration any of the opinions of the medical or mental health community about her ability to be safe and independent. Unfortunately, my mother was left feeling disappointed and more importantly incredibly ashamed. The saddest part is that we are now working through the reticence that my mother has about moving into assisted living at all as shes afraid that she will not be welcome. Its very sad for us all. We are working to get her through this. We only wish that the Arbors had stopped to consider the person behind the stroke and treated her \"as family\" as they say in their story of this family business. I write this so that others can be protective of their loved ones as you consider the Arbors. more ... hide ...

I have lived here for just about three years Ive always wanted to live here when searching for a place to live. When I got the call that my name had come up on the list I was so excited. I feel like I live in my own house without having to worry about fixing my own stuff cleaning the yard and snowblowing as for this place is right on top of it all this. This place is always maintained if there is ever a safety issue it gets addressed for like the time I needed a new stove it didnt just get patched up I got a brand new one. The maintenance is around all the time even sometimes on the weekends when needed and always kind and courteous. The office manager is So nice whenever there is an issue with my place I always seem to catch her as she is leaving for the day BUT always stops to hear my issue then gets on it the next day as if I tell her it can wait. As long as I have lived here I have never seen in the office area decorated for the holidays as of I have seen this year. I am writing this because I have read some reviews and said to myself people should look around their own neighborhoods there are a good and bad everywhere but for me Im happy with my little place at Tammy Brook more ... hide ...
