I visited family here. I LOVE the fact that each apartment has its own patio or balcony and that everyone has a secure, locked mailbox. The 3 bedroom 2 bath unit is spacious. Theres also a laundry closet large enough f or a full size washer and dryer.There are a few minor negative issues. There is NO supermarket in the area. One must travel to Allen Park or Lincoln Park to shop at Kroger, Meijer, Aldi or Save-A-Lot.If you have mobility issues, I do not recommend a 2nd floor apartment. There are 2 small flights of stairs to climb. Also, 2nd floor residents should have a doorbell - one doesnt always hear the door knocker.The only thing I would change is that the refrigerator should be equipped with an icemaker. My sister in law constantly ran out of ice.International Gospel Center and several other churches are nearby and the Miles Manor senior building is practically around the corner.If I lived in Michigan again, I would consider living here. more ... hide ...

This is an OUTSTANDING place to live and thrive. The office staff is amazing. I have to mention Mrs G. She is the director and she is in charge of day to day operations. She creates a beautiful, peaceful and positive env ironment. She is fair when handling difficult problems and she is loved and adored by every resident (and many family members) at that location. more ... hide ...

Sycamore Meadows has been making some wonderful great changes. They finally have CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING which makes me so happy!I lived here before back in 1997 when I was 10 years old and what a different time it was back then when everyone worked together making it a safe place.Im in a great area and I have great big neighbors and little neighbors.Thankful for Ms. Bentley for working so hard and making a huge difference in the residents lives. Pretty decent.Heres the breakdown: (summary is at end)There are lots of children, so summertime and holidays can be noisy (outside). Personal experience is that there are some parents who dgaf about their kids be ing loud until 11pm-12am (inside). But then there are just as many parents who mind their children quite well.I see reports or drug/alcohol abuse. Sorry other reviewers...but statistical evidence is against you. Any place with large amount of people in smaller areas will result in drug addicts being near you. Its a problem almost anywhere you live. Especially in recent years wih benzos and opiates. I havent seen anyone acting out much, and after a year...maybe 4x cops coming out. Its 2x been because a kid dialed, with no emergency present.A problem I do see, is that only service animals allowed but people abuse the emotional service animal thing BAD. Dogs are just out pissing on everything, and pooping with no human cleaning up. I have a registered service animal (different than emotional aid animal) and she is never unaccompanied, and with me when I leave.Theres a difference, and it is one of the rules that gets broken way too much here.If you like being loud at night (party), it may not be a good place for you.--(Older people and younger families dont appreciate this and will report)If you hoard things outside on your porch and arent very tidy, it may not be a place for you.--(rules for what can be out and when)If you like to let your electric bill lapse more than once or twice, nope.-- (reason for eviction, as per rent agreement).If you have shady friends come about alot, dont bother.-- (neighborhood watch is active, I have actually seen this firsthand).There are many rules and regulations that are maybe annoying, but are pretty easy to follow. If you try, usually no one gets nitpicky or pissy wih you.In summary:If you are fixed income/disabled like me, its a good option. What I deal wih here, is literally NO different than when I lived in full price apartment complexes elsewere, if not BETTER because they have rules and regulations. more ... hide ...

Manager was very nice and accommodating. I did have to go back a few times because they were only accepting applications certain times but once I made an appointment it was a seamless process. The townhomes themselves ar e beautiful. Very well kept throughout the whole complex. I have looked at a few and these were the nicest. The wait list is long but to me its worth the wait. You do have to get accepted to the list though first. They run your credit/criminal history. more ... hide ...
