I have lived at what is now called the Ravello Apts for over 11+ yrs. The apartments were building for people 55+ and over and for Section 8. I have worked and able to pay full rent $760. monthly. Im 73 yrs old and du e to medical issues and age now unable to work. I tried to apply for Section 8 but was told you can apply but you wont get approved to live here you would have to move !! Last week I spoke to Minda, Apt Mgr. regarding my countless work orders and repairs to flood lights being out since last April 2020. I was told by Minda that owners of property are NOT concerned about any repairs that they are only interested in having 100% occupancy and money in their pockets so dont count on any repairs. I asked Minda why no notice was sent to people living here about no more Section 8 and she informed me that they DONT have to inform nobody. I was told that sometime next year they will get all renters currently living here under Section 8 will be informed to find new place to live. Before this corporate party took over it WAS a well groomed community. There was office management that wasnt rude. the office was always open, now they come in late, leave early, dont answer phones, simply dont care. We pay rent and that includes having repairs done where we live. Why did you buy this property if your intentions are to hurt older people? But like Minda said to corporate its all about money and dont care about anything else more ... hide ...

My soon to be 84 year old Mom lives here & the staff is very patient with their clients. All who want so badly to continue to live independently, but also need a little attention & help from family & the community to con tinue their rightful pursuit towards maintaining their independence as long as possible. If, I can not bring her to my place to visit or stay because of my own issues like car problems, I am content that she is a private fenced community. We have a blast going to eat near downtown SA. Plus, Smile King dentistry is down the street. There are doctors & eye doctors all nearby. Now, she even has an old friend as her personnel attendant because of car trouble I could no longer go everyday. And, she is not ready to go of her independence & rightfully so. But, I too am getting older & am not the young woman that could quickly run all her errands in 1 day. It takes me months to fulfill my own needs. Until she wants to let go of her independence, this is by far the best place. Of course, it is not perfect. But, it is nice & clean & as close to fulfilling the needs as possible. And, they provide 1 small meal a day in their community center for a very small fee. So, this community is a true blessing for our family! more ... hide ...
