I love this place. I lived toward the front, in a quiet corner, where no problems seemed to happen. Towards the back though, I guess there is a lot of drama and problems, but you can ever get away from that kind of stuff when living in close quarters to many people. They do, of course, have strict rules. But these are necessary to making the place look attractive and not trashy. I also enjoyed the people that work there, most of the time. I also rented the club house for a party once, and it was nice, and cost just a few bucks, plus deposit, but you get that back if you leave it looking good. Overall, I love and miss this place! I moved out a few months ago, and I miss it terribly. Definitely an awesome experience! more ... hide ...

Avoid! This is not a good place to live, let me count the ways:1. Constant sirens blaring - Ambulances use the CVS parking lot across the street as a waiting point as it is close to M14. So youll be hearing them A LOT.2. More noise - You can hear just about everything the people above or below you are doing.3. Rent varies from tenant to tenant - is this even legal? Go ahead and ask your neighbors what theyre paying!4. Safety - The front door key opens EVERY front door in the complex, so hopefully you trust all your neighbors.5. No online bill pay - What year is it?6. Margaret - Shes the absolute worst. Shell lie and tell you anything you want to hear to get you to sign a lease (unless youre black) and then becomes a combative and nasty old hag once youre stuck in that contract. Dont even think about trying to sublease either, shell have none of that.7. Worst of all theres no communication with the Sam Cassar Company,. You can contact them all you want, but theyll never contact you back directly. Margaret acts as though shes God and isnt held accountable for anything. Youll inevitably run into some issue with her and theres no way to go above her. Im filing a complaint with the BBB.I would not recommend this place, or any of the other Sam Cassar Company properties. Theyre stuck in the 60s and dont treat people with any respect. more ... hide ...

Super staff, main office guided me through my first lease, maintain. crew are positive, energetic, couldnt be more pleased. Surroundings/bldg., shopping, dude!, Im serious, for seniors-only, this apartment & the whole op erating staff do right for Detroit. After (2) yrs., my opinion just gets better. The corporate owners/MGMT. keep improving. Much as I love my origins in Waterford & White Lake, Mi. Im pleased here in, \"the D\"! more ... hide ...

I live in Oxford Roe 2 which is also low income housing. I have witnessed since my year of living hear great inequality. Cranbrook is the other rental property which is all in the same complex. Those apartments look cle an and well maintained. Oxford Roe 2 on the other hand is kept to bare minimal condition. I think is is normal for nothing to b e replaced new, if it needs to be fixed it last until it totally breaks down or when some used is available. when I moved in there were birds in the vents and the smell has lasted a year and increasingly getting worse as they cleaned one Air duct out of 2. Kristen the prior manager cared more for money and getting ahead in her career than the well being of renters. I am going to have to call the district manager about the air ducts as the mentality of the managers is money first renters last. That is not a good way to run any business or organization, the people at the top should know how bad these low income apartments are kept up and how littler management does to keep it hat way. more ... hide ...
