I really enjoy living here because the apartments are beautiful and they are not cramped. My husband and I have a one bedroom apartment and the kitchen is large with a decent amount of nice looking cabinets. There is a lso a closed off area for your washer and dryer. I had an amazing experience moving into Friar Woods. The staff was on top of the moving process and was determined to get me in a timely manner; they were friendly and very accommodating. This is an income restricted pro perty so therefore they have to fill all units properly. The previous reviews have discrepancies about wait time and professionalism but I think the staff were very professional considering the nonstop traffic throughout the business day. Every time I went into the office when they first opened it was packed due to the amount of people inquiring about the complex. I understand 100% how someone could become agitated on such busy days but Kristie still managed to answer my questions when she was able to. When you call they may not answer because they are with someone in the office or they are showing units so I would recommend you leave a message or go inside. Overall I would recommend this complex to anyone. Not to mention Friar offers amenities that most income restricted communities do not. ONCE AGAIN it is a new community so if you have patience stop by and apply. (the gym and computer room is still under construction) Be understanding, opening any business is a process. more ... hide ...

Hanna the property manager was super easy to work with made the whole process very smooth and straight forward. Answered any questions Id have and was available whenever I needed assistance. Definitely calling the landin g in Hickory home for a while. I appreciate Hanna for making my first move in experience a really enjoyable one!!!The apartments are clean and essentially anything you might need is less than a 5min car ride away. This could be a nice place to live. There are some positives. The kids park is acceptable, fenced in. The apartments inside are spacious and very well equipped. No assigned parking which is good until someone gets upset and paranoid your parking close to their end. The area to throw away trash can not handle the trash output so is always overflowing on to the ground. Management door is always locked since covid but if your one of the elite residents and a special friend you can come in thru side door. Strict designated smoking areas unless your an elite and you can smoke wherever, whatever and however you want to, even in the breezeway with management talking to you. Complex accepts Section 8 and residents with poor financial habits resulting in undesirables and ghetto like atmosphere painted with luxury living. more ... hide ...
